Island Lake kicks off Lakefest

Island Lake's annual Lakefest is underway, offering a carnival throughout the weekend and one special night of fireworks.

The festival began Friday and continues through Sunday, July 26, at Watertower Park at 439 W. Route 176.

Live music, carnival rides, a car show, beer tent and craft fair will be some of the highlights of the weekend. The fireworks show will take place at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 25.

Food will be available throughout the weekend. Wristbands for unlimited carnival rides will be sold for use from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The festival opens at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26.
