Mt. Prospect block party brings crowds downtown

The 16th annual Mount Prospect Downtown Block Party got under way Friday night and continues 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

Sponsored by the Village of Mount Prospect and the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce, the party is at Emerson Street and Busse Avenue, next to the village hall.

Children's activities include a climbing wall, slide, mini Ferris wheel, bounce houses, balloon artist and more. Pony rides and face-painting will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Main stage entertainment Saturday will include Beatolution at 3 p.m., Hello Weekend at 5 p.m., The Personnel at 7 p.m. and Wedding Banned at 9 p.m.

Free parking is available in the Metra commuter lot, Northwest Highway and Elmhurst Road; village hall parking deck, 50 S. Emerson St.; and Maple Street parking lot, Prospect Avenue and Maple Street.
