YWCA Elgin to host 'Queen for a Day' tea with Victorian bride theme

On Saturday, Aug. 15, the YWCA Elgin hosts the 15th annual "Queen for a Day" event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Elgin Country Club, 2575 Weld Road.

The theme for this year's event is "Victorian Bride."

This intergenerational event brings together mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters for a morning full of fun - featuring live music, entertainment, a craft for children and a delicious brunch to benefit the YWCA Elgin's programs.

Each adult reservation comes with a chance to become the "Queen for a Day" or one of three "Ladies-in-Waiting," and each child reservation comes with a chance of being crowned the "Princess."

In addition to wearing the crown, each member of the Royal Court wins an extravagant gift-basket full of prizes, including gift cards and jewelry.

Reservations are $25 for YWCA Elgin members, $30 for nonmembers, and $15 for children, age 12 and under. Price includes buffet brunch and tea service.

There will be raffles, prizes, and crafts for the kids. Join us for a fun morning of friends, family and fellowship in support of the YWCA Elgin!

Queen for a Day sponsorship opportunities are available. All sponsors will be recognized in the program, during the event, in the YWCA Elgin newsletter and on the YWCA Elgin website.
