Mitsubishi subsidiary plans $25 million Elk Grove facility

A subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Corp. plans to relocate from Wood Dale to Elk Grove Village, with plans to construct a $25 million building.

MC Machinery, which produces high precision electrical discharge machines, 2-D and 3-D laser cutting machines, milling machines, and press brake machines, will purchase an 11-acre site at 101 Northwest Point Blvd. with plans to construct a 175,000-square-foot building. The complex is expected to house the company's corporate offices, a showroom, demonstration area and warehouse.

The Elk Grove Village board last week endorsed the company's application for a Cook County Class 6b property tax break, which would allow the property to be assessed at lower levels for 12 years.

Officials say MC Machinery will transfer 220 jobs to its new location, and is expected to hire eight to 10 new employees each year for 10 years.
