Wheaton Band Festival continues at 6 p.m. tonight

The Wheaton Band Festival opened its two-night run Friday with a mission to present music for music lovers by musicians who love to play a variety of musical styles.

Now in its 16th year, the festival will continue at 6 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park, 208 W. Union Ave., near downtown Wheaton.

The celebration of all things music opened Friday with performances by the Chicago Brass Band and The Nite Hawks. Saturday's performances are scheduled to feature the Fox Valley Concert Band, the Switch Time Jazz Ensemble and the Crystal Lake Community Band. The music ranges from classical to swing to big-band style jazz.

The concert is free. For details, visit www.whwatonbandfestival.org.
