Voice winner to appear at Blarney Island Friday

Craig Wayne Boyd, the winner of season 7 of the Voice on NBC, will be the headline act at Blarney's Island near Antioch tonight.

Blarney's owner Rob Hardman said Boyd had been scheduled to play a concert in Peoria, but the concert was canceled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances.

"His manager called us up and asked if we wanted him to play the Island," Hardman said. "I said let's do it."

According to his bio, Boyd is an American country singer-songwriter who started a music career in 2004. He was part of Blake Shelton's team that won "The Voice" in December, 2014.

The doors open at 4 p.m., Hardman said, and the opening acts go on at 7 p.m.

Tickets for Friday's show are available until 4 p.m. at ticketweb.com. Tickets are also available at Port O' Blarney throughout the evening. Port O' Blarneys is at 27843 W. Grass Lake Road in unincorporated Lake County near Antioch.

General admission to the show is $20, and a VIP ticket is $50.
