Romeoville company receives chamber Edie Award

ROMEOVILLE - Magid Glove and Safety recently received the 2015 Edie Award awarded by The Illinois Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Illinois Economic Development Association, for economic development and job creation.

Magid was presented the award at the Illinois Chamber of Commerce's 2015 annual meeting on July 14 in Chicago.

The relocation of Magid's national headquarters to Romeoville in 2014 generated significant advancements for the community, including bringing approximately 500 jobs, with about 50 new hires from the village.

It is the third time that a Romeoville project has received this award. Previous development projects that resulted in the Edie Award included the Village's work with Peacock Engineering in 2014 and also with Kimberly Clark in 2009. Romeoville is one of the few Illinois communities' to receive multiple Edie awards since it started in 2009.
