Which houses have best Curb Appeal in Des Plaines?

Voting continues through the end of the month to determine which front yards in Des Plaines look the best, and those that look better than they did before.

Residents can vote for the winners in Mayor Matt Bogusz's second annual Curb Appeal Challenge by going to desplaines.org/curbappeal. They can pick from four finalists in each of the two categories: Best Curb Appeal and Most Improved Curb Appeal.

From April to June, the city received 92 entries - more than the 87 participants in the competition's inaugural year. Judges from the Des Plaines Garden Club picked the four finalists in each category.

The finalists for Best Curb Appeal are houses at: 329 Drake Lane, 328 Oxford Road, 345 Stratford Road and 1011 S. Sixth Ave.

The finalists for Most Improved Curb Appeal are houses at: 1122 E. Walnut Ave., 2130 Nimitz Drive, 1393 Susan Drive and 1703 Wicke Ave.

Winners will receive $500 and $250 cash prizes in each category.
