Unveiling the Taboo: A Take on the Vagina Monologues Yoni Ki Baat: A Hindi & English Play Oct. 4

Come one come all! On Oct. 4, 2015, Ekjut Theater presents "Yoni Ki Baat," inspired by Eve Ensler's book, "Vagina Monologues," which was later made into a monologue production that has been performed at various theaters across the U.S.

"The Vagina Monologues" brings together a collection of stories from women from all walks of life. It raises awareness to many topics that we think about, but rarely discuss out loud.

Similarly, Ekjut presents and brings this play to Chicago in hopes that it brings awareness to the South Asian Community. The cast share stories that are considered very "taboo" in South Asian culture. Yoni Ki Baat literally means 'talks of the vagina' in Sanskrit. Already laughing huh? The stories includes the struggles and truths of growing up as a South Asian Women, but also some topics that are just never spoken about in South Asian Culture. Shhhh!

This play will bring you to tears and laughter as you witness these personal stories come to life. Some are just funny things that South Asian women go through, but some more serious tone on the ignorance we see within our community.
