Young Local Artists offer Creative Spectacle

Two talented young artists, Zach Ritchey and LoriAnne Nelson, are offering an exclusive display of their works to raise money for Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org) , a non-profit Christian organization that ships hand-packed meals to malnourished children in nearly 70 countries.

The artist and design display, billed as a "Creative Spectacle," will be held from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Christian Church of Arlington Heights, 333 W. Thomas St., Arlington Heights. It will feature oil paintings, photography, paper arts (including origami, paper cuts and quilling) and woodburning and is open to the public with an admission charge of $3 to raise funds for the charity.

Ritchey, of Palatine, is a photographer and 2014 graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg who has been making photographs since the age of 5. "I have found my passion photographing people, products and food, and I use my unique take to develop meaningful and timeless images," he says.

Nelson, of Rolling Meadows, a 2013 graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg, has artistic interests encompassing a wide range of media, including digital photography, oil painting, cake decorating, woodworking, and paper sculpture. "I love finding unique ways of expressing my creative interests,' she says.
