New assistant principal at Woodland

Jordan Anderson has been named assistant principal of Woodland Intermediate School in Gurnee.

"I look forward to joining the outstanding team at Woodland Intermediate and know that I will be able to contribute a lot while also learning a lot from the wonderful program that is already in place," Anderson said.

She will replace Lisa West, who was named principal at Elementary East in Gages Lake earlier this year.

"I am excited to welcome Jordan Anderson to our learning community," said Woodland Intermediate School Principal Michael Witkowski.

Anderson has more than a decade of educational experience, having taught 13 years as a fifth-grade teacher, three years of which she served as a team leader. She served on various math, language arts and social studies curriculum committees and has had extensive experience in curriculum design.
