Condemnation of gays hurts many

Contrary to public opinion, there are many practicing Christians who do not see homosexuality as a sin. One can repent sins and be forgiven. One cannot - nor should not - repent or seek forgiveness for who God made homosexuals to be.

Although there are some people who experiment with homosexuality just as many also experiment with heterosexuality, the vast majority of people do not chose their sexual orientation - they simply are. Few of us chose who to fall in love with, we just do. Why would anyone in their right mind have chosen to be homosexual 30 or more years ago when that life style meant so much pain and rejection from society.

It is simply who God made them. That is not sinful or evil. It simply is.

Not too many years ago the Bible was used to promote racism and bigotry as well as the subjugation of women. To grow in faith means to examine our faith in light of what we learn in each generation. We must understand God's law, not in terms of man's limitations, but in terms of God's love for all of us. There is nothing threatening about that.

"For now we know only in part, and we prophecy only in part" and "Now I know only in part" and "And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love." (II Corinthians). Homosexuality hurts no one. Denial of and condemnation of homosexuality hurts many. My thoughts.
