Instacart expands delivery to more Western suburbs

ELMHURST - Instacart, a grocery delivery service whose workers hand pick and deliver items from trusted local stores, announced today that it is now delivering from Jewel-Osco and Petco for the western suburbs of Chicago. Beginning today, customers in these suburbs can now order from Whole Foods Market, Jewel-Osco, Costco, Standard Market, and Petco stores and have everything delivered by Instacart in as little as one hour. Instacart also added the suburbs of Lisle and Elmhurst to its delivery map.

New customers can open an account at www.Instacart.com, and get free delivery on their first order of $10 or more.

Western suburbs already being served by Instacart include Naperville, Oak Brook, Westmont, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and Downers Grove. Lisle and Elmhurst will now be included in this delivery zone. The company was also already serving downtown Chicago, North Shore, Highland Park, Hyde Park, Northbrook, Libertyville, Long Grove and Westmont. Instacart launched in Chicago in September 2013, and Instacart Midwest General Manager Dave Osborne said the growth in the Chicago area continues to move at a rapid pace. "We are adding more retailers and suburbs due to high customer demand," said Osborne. "Our customers are extremely busy people who also want to make sure they are eating healthy and using fresh ingredients. By adding Jewel-Osco to our roster of grocers for the western suburbs, we are giving customers more options for a wide variety of fresh products for on-demand delivery right to their doorstep. We are also excited to expand our relationship with Petco as more of our customers want their regular pet supplies delivered to them on-demand."

Launched in San Francisco in 2012 and now serving customers in 16 markets, Instacart has fundamentally changed how consumers and businesses get their groceries. Instacart connects its customers with Personal Shoppers who shop for and deliver grocery orders in as little as an hour. This innovative delivery process eliminates the need for costly infrastructure such as inventory, warehouses, and delivery trucks and led to Instacart being named "America's Most Promising Company" by Forbes Magazine in January 2015.
