Batavia RSVP Inc., which began in 1988, is an organization established to help the senior citizens in the community. It is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit group directed and run by volunteers. Its mission is to provide services to residents of the community who are age 65 or older. The goal is to help them to live independently in their homes as long as possible and to maintain as high a quality of life as possible.

Services include the Medication Assistance Program to help low-income seniors with their prescription drug costs; meal delivery; transportation to businesses within or near the community; smoke and carbon monoxide detectors; lockboxes; and information and referral services.

There is no paid staff and the cost of services and programs is free to the client. A 15-member board plans, initiates and oversees the services. Over the years as the needs of the senior citizens have changed, the services and number of volunteers have increased. They work with a variety of city and local organizations to continue to provide services and programs that enhance the quality of life of our senior citizens.

Services are provided free to seniors who reside in the city of Batavia, Batavia Township or the Batavia Park District (which includes some parts of Aurora, North Aurora and Geneva).
