Aurora Noon Lions Club installs officers, directors

Local residents were among Aurora Noon Lions Club 2015-2016 officers and directors installed Monday, July 6.

Renee Reeder, Lions Zone 2 chairwoman, presided during installation ceremonies at Luigi's Pizza in Aurora.

Plainfield resident Michele Needham was installed as president and scholarship chairwoman. Needham served as club co-president in 2014-15, and is executive director of human resources at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.

Also serving one-year terms are: Michele Needham, Plainfield, president and scholarship chair; Jim Scott, Aurora, first vice president; Al Benson, Aurora, second vice president; Arvid Meyer, Aurora, third vice president and philanthropy chair; Jimmie Delgado, Oswego, treasurer; Rodrigo "Bobby" Menendez, Oswego, secretary; Paul Buddy, Montgomery, tail twister; and Herb Steinmetz, Sugar Grove and Michele Needham, Plainfield, past co-presidents.

Directors installed were Buddy, Steinmetz, Dick Schindel, Aurora; Joe Beary, Aurora; and Tom Muth, Oswego.

Founded in 1922, the Aurora Noon Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays at Luigi's Pizza, 732 Prairie St. in Aurora.
