25th annual Pontiac car show comes to St. Charles Aug. 8-9

Each year, the Cruisin' Tigers GTO Club, one of the largest all Pontiac car clubs in the country, hosts a classic car show, called the Indian Uprising All Pontiac Weekend.

The 25th annual show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9, at its new home, the Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St. in St. Charles. It features more than 450 Pontiacs, including all models, GTO, Catalina, Firebird, etc. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, with Cruise-In from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with awards at 3 p.m. Sunday registration closes at 11 a.m. Saturday night all make and model cruise-in and parking lot party will feature The New Invaders.

The Cruisin' Tigers have donated proceeds totaling far more than $100,000 to children's charities. The club currently donates to children's burn camp and equine charities for children with disabilities.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, they will have a cruise for all makes and model classic cars as guests. In the evening, there will be a free live band. Food and drinks are available for purchase on Saturday and Sunday.

On Sunday, it will be the big show for Pontiac classic cars only. There also will be a clown from noon to 2 p.m., the White Sox mascot, and possibly the Kane County K-9 unit bloodhound, if available.
