Bailey Road reopens after power lines fixed

Bailey Road at Washington Street in Naperville reopened about 2 p.m. Monday after a crash that knocked down power lines required it to be closed for several hours.

The closure began before 6 a.m., when a driver struck an electric pole on Bailey Road just west of Washington Street, Naperville police Sgt. Bill Davis said.

The man was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not reported as critical. He was not arrested or cited after the crash, Davis said.

Crews from the Naperville electric department worked for roughly eight hours to reopen the road about 2 p.m., the same time a rainstorm moved through the area.

The closure had affected Bailey both east and West of Washington, with the road being closed at Swallow Street on the west and near Bay Court on the east.
