Local author to sign books at Barrington White House

Local author Dyllis Braithwaite will be signing copies of her new book "Oh! I Love What You're Wearing, Volume II" at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Barrington White House, 145 W. Main St.

Braithwaite, 87, of Barrington, said the photos in both volumes of the books are from her personal wardrobe, which she created to inspire her customers during the four decades she owned Finn's Fabrics by Dyllis in Barrington.

"I created these books because wherever I go people stop me on the street and tell me they love my wearable art," Braithwaite said. "I wanted to share my creations with others."

Photographs in Volume I are by Barrington residents Maxine Cress and Bob Lee. Photographer Susan McConnell joined Cress and Lee for Volume II.
