Fun-filled funder for cancer research

Last Sunday, the Buffalo Grove Singers and the Buffalo Grove Park District joined forces to provide a fun-filled afternoon for the community while raising funds for the American Cancer Society, and more specifically, pediatric cancer research.

Bill Heider, Kim Cashmore, Lindsay Grandt, Dani Rogers and chairwoman Carolyn Lewis worked with the BG Singers to create, staff and donate their time, energy, talent and smiles to all the participants. All funds collected at the event went directly to our chosen charity.

While a somewhat dreary day prevailed, the pool staff provided games, toys and music for the festivities and fun was had by all that attended. The BG Singers are very grateful to the Willow Stream Pool staff who made sure everyone was safe to enjoy this family event. We appreciate their donation of pool fees and staff time to work together and make this project possible.

Please visit the BG Singers Truly Brave Facebook page to see what we are doing to further our fundraising efforts. Local restaurants such as Culvers, Dengeos, Jersey Mikes, CPK, JD's Q & Brew and Yogurtland have kindly donated proceeds from the last Thursday of each month to the American Cancer Society - we thank them for being such great neighbors!

Fun tote bags, generously donated by American Enterprise Bank and Sanders Court Pediatrics are available at our Community Arts Center in Buffalo Grove for $5. Please stop by and pick one up - great for groceries or wet swimsuits this summer!

I would like to thank all of you who have participated in our events and a huge thank you to all of my BG Singers who work so tirelessly on behalf of being part of "the chorus that cares"!
