Fire damages Palatine garage; no injuries reported

Investigators continue to search for the cause of a fire Friday night that damaged a Palatine garage.

Palatine firefighters called to the residence at 955 S. Parkplace Drive at 11:04 p.m. found smoke billowing out of the overhead garage door. Crews cut down the garage door and ventilated the room, getting the fire under control in about 10 minutes, officials said.

No one was injured, the fire department reported. Damage estimates were not available Saturday.

The fire was fought by 26 responders including firefighters, rescue squads and investigators. The Palatine Rural Fire Protection District and the Rolling Meadows Fire Department were the first units to arrive on the scene.
