Solo homers lift Marlins over Chicago Cubs

The Miami Marlins got solo homers from Christian Yelich and Justin Bour and made them hold up for a 2-1 victory Friday over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

The teams traded runs in the first inning. Yelich homered with one out in the top of the first inning off Jason Hammel. In the bottom half, Kris Bryant doubled to the left-field corner with two outs and came home on a single to right field by Miguel Montero.

The score stayed that way until the sixth, when former Cubs farmhand Justin Bour hit a home run to right field.

On the day before Independence Day, the game drew a big crowd of 41,212.
