Lots of fun for kids Saturday at Bartlett's July 4 fest
Saturday is the big day with lots to do for kids, plus fireworks at Bartlett's 22nd Fourth of July festival at Apple Orchard Park on Stearns Road.
There is free children's entertainment from 1 to 3 p.m. with Jazzi Entertainment providing DJ music, wheel barrow races, water balloon toss, relay races, face painting and balloon twisters. At 1 p.m., there is a pedal tractor pull for all ages.
The Bartlett Parks Foundation holds its Turbo Turtle Race fundraiser at 4 p.m. at the Bartlett Aquatic Center. Turtles race to win their sponsors one of many donated prizes, including cash, sporting events, family activities and food.
At 8:30 p.m., as a prelude to the fireworks, Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Sugar Grove puts on a sky diving show. The fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.
The Bartlett Lions Club parade is 1 p.m. Sunday starting at Oak and North avenues and finishing at South Bartlett and Stearns roads.
Carnival hours are noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
