Here's how Illinois, Greece are similar

Why is Illinois like Greece?

Both approve spending plans and guarantee pension benefits for workers that they have not funded with appropriate taxes.

Both legislatures approve budgets that pass billions of debt onto future generations because taxes are not raised to fund the massive spending.

Both legislatures do not pass the necessary taxes to fund the spending plans because they know if they do pass them, they will be voted out of office.

The voters of both cannot face the fact that more spending means more taxes or alternatively less spending to meet the taxes that are levied.

The voters of both are doing irreparable harm to future generations by allowing this to continue.

Both will eventually be bankrupt, thereby reducing pensions and canceling wage contracts to emerge from bankruptcy.

When will the voters of both wake up and throw the politicians that created the mess out of office?
