RAVINIA BUSINESS DISTRICT JULY THIRD THURSDAYS FOCUS: DESIGN & DINE

The Ravinia District is excited to continue "Third Thursdays" on July 16 from 5-8pm. This month Ravinia Business District's theme is Design and Dine, inviting all customers to gallivant through the District's diverse shopping, dining and essential services area, as many businesses will be staying open late on this day.

The second in a quarterly home design series, "Design and Dine", part of the Third Thursdays events programming, will showcase the District's home focused businesses, with receptions hosted by Design Quartet at Ravinia at 595 Roger Williams Avenue and Full Circle Architects at 737 St. John's Avenue.

Full Circle Architects will be hosting three different "edutainment" sessions on "how to create." The first session will be held from 5-6pm with discussion about Indoor/outdoor spaces, followed by Roof and Vertical Gardens from 6-7pm and Home Greenhouses and Glass Enclosures from 7-8pm.

Design Quartet at Ravinia is excited to present a workshop on "How to Stay Sane while Remodeling" and "How to Create a Time Line for Your Renovation." Tips on how to create and stay within budgets and time frames and how to choose the perfect designer for you are on the agenda for the evening.

Refreshments including wine, soft drinks and water will be served at both locations along with an assortment of appetizers and food items.

The Highland Park Public Library will be hosting a design and dine themed trivia contest at Ravinia BBQ and Grill. Teams and individuals are encouraged to come out and test their knowledge at all things gardens during this Third Thursday. The library will provide trivia sheets, and diners will be able to fill them out as a team, or compete individually and then turn them in for prizes. The library will also be demonstrating how card -holders can download and view free movies, music, magazines and more. Customers can show their library card and receive a free, readers advanced copy of a new title.

Other businesses open late during the July 16th Design and Dine include: Calm Massage Therapy, State Farm Insurance, Arthur M. Feldman Gallery, Jeff Cohen Photography and Soshee Boutique.

Ravinia District's Third Thursdays will feature several themes throughout 2015 including: an outdoor family festival, a progressive holiday party, and quarterly Design and Dine evenings. Other District "Doings" to watch for include: Free music series in Jens Jensen Park every Saturday from 11am-2pm, Ravinia Farmers Market beginning in June; and the very first Ravinia District Fall Festival celebrating music and community is scheduled for October 2nd and 3rd.
