Take care of our own needy first

When I read today's Herald, I am so very ashamed to say I am a citizen of the great(?) U.S.A.

In recent paper was an article about decorated hero Adam Taylor, who received dental care due to the charity of several concerned citizens. I applaud their generosity and all of those involved with his care. But, in the same day's paper was a great deal of press taken up by all the aid and $10 million being sent to another COUNTRY!

Wait a minute, what is wrong with this picture? We in the U.S.A. have veterans who are not getting the well-deserved care they need and we are sending millions to strangers.

We have our priorities seriously messed up. Help is needed here first, whether it be for an honorable veteran or natural disaster victims.

Let's get our ducks in a row and take care of the U.S. first.
