Round Lake Heights man pleads guilty to meth possession

A Round Lake Heights man pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of more than 400 grams methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, authorities said.

Daniel Garcia-Fino, 44, faces 12 to 50 years in prison, Assistant State's Attorney Rod Drobinski said. Garcia-Fino remains held in Lake County jail while awaiting an Aug. 5 sentencing.

The Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group seized more than a pound of methamphetamine from Garcia-Fino after serving a search warrant at his Rollins Road apartment Jan. 26, Drobinski said. Garcia-Fino, who also goes by an alias of Miguel Delgado-Uribe, lived alone in the apartment and was the only person in the room when the search warrant was issued, Drobinski said.

Garcia-Fino was ordered held in Lake County jail on $1 million bail after his arrest, Drobinski said.

This isn't the first time Garcia-Fino has been in trouble with the law. He has been sentenced to jail in five other states involving criminal trespass to residences, delivery of a controlled substance, burglary, theft, and various weapons possession charges, Drobinski said.
