Library Presents Fun Twists on History With Three Upcoming Programs
Chicago's river bridges, Amelia Earhart and Hank Williams will be the subjects of three programs coming to the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. "Chicago River Bridges" is scheduled from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 8 in the library's Rasmussen North Room. Author Patrick McBriarty will take the audience on a virtual tour of the Chicago River as he explores the history of the many unique bridges that have spanned this crucial waterway.
"Amelia Earhart" will take place from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, July 13 in the Rasmussen Room. Leslie Goddard will give a living history portrayal of the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and attempt an around-the-world flight. All are invited to learn about Earhart's courageous exploits and spirited personality.
"The Music of Hank Williams" will be featured from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, in the Rasmussen North Room. Americana musician Steve Justman will present Hank's story with guitar and banjo. Learn why Hank's music has become part of the American fabric.
