VII German fighter plane flies over the corn field at Fox Valley Aero Club's second annual Windy City Warbirds and Classics large scale RC airplane event in St. Charles Friday. The plane, designed by Anthony Fokker of Holland, was considered state-of-the-art at the time and the best fighter plane of the war. As a part of the armistice, Germany had to hand over all the D. VII's to the Allies so they could study them.
  An A-10 'Warthog' jet flown by Paul LeTourneau of Oconto, WI cruises past an American Flag during the noontime show at the Fox Valley Aero Club's second annual Windy City Warbirds and Classics large scale RC airplane event in St. Charles Friday. The plane, officially called a Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, debuted in the 70s, was used in Iraq and Desert Storm, and is still in use by the US military today.
