Round Lake Beach's BeachFest offers entertainment and more through Sunday

Mandy Z & Rural Route One and the Brass Buckle Band kicked off the musical entertainment Friday night at BeachFest in Round Lake Beach.

The three-day event continues through Sunday at the Cultural and Civic Center at 2007 Civic Center Way.

Other bands scheduled to play this weekend include Modern Day Romeos, Bad Medicine, And Beyond, 97 Nine, Almost Joe, Miner 9th, Bar Stool Soldiers and Transformation Rocks. A battle of the bands is Saturday, and Hispanic bands will be featured on Sunday. The Hispanic bands are Banda Valle Verde, Los Orejones, Los Tremendos Allegres and Causa y Efecto.

Admission is free to the fest, which includes a beverage tent, food vendors, carnival and family-friendly activities. For details, visit villageofroundlakebeach.com.
