Speaker to talk about automobile innovations

Topical programs are fixtures of the weekly meetings of the Kiwanis Club of Elgin. On Tuesday, June 30, Martin Zimmerman, a five-state representative of Bosch Automotive, will offer his keen perspective on automobiles.

He will talk about driverless cars as well as other automotive innovations.

Robert Bosch is an engineering company and one of biggest suppliers of automotive parts and equipment in the world. They are currently using virtual reality to train technicians.

The Kiwanis Club of Elgin, now in its 95th year, received its charter March 9, 1920, and serves the Kiwanis International mission, to change the world one child at a time, one community at a time. In that time, the Elgin noon club donated over $1 million to organizations in Elgin and South Elgin.

Anyone interested in joining the club is invited to attend a weekly lunch meeting, held at noon each Tuesday at The Grumpy Goat Tavern, 875 Sports Way, Elgin, at the Highlands Golf Course. For information, contact Karen Maki, (847) 695-7589.
