Film Series Return to Northbrook Public Library

NORTHBROOK, IL (June 25, 2015) -For nearly a year, the Northbrook Public Library had its film series on hold as the new auditorium was under construction. Starting July 1, the Library's cherished film series are returning, and they are returning to an auditorium that is better than ever before.

"We are excited to present our 39th year of classic and first run films in our new theater, [which was] designed specifically as film and concert venue," said Steve Gianni, MultiMedia department head.

The renovated auditorium, which was officially debuted at the Library's Grand Opening on June 13 and 14, now boasts comfortable theater seating, digital 7.1 surround sound, improved acoustics, and a large movie screen, which is four times larger than the Library's original screen. The Library offers film screenings in both classic 35mm prints and the latest theatrical standard of 4K DCP.

Superheroes steal the screen for July's Classics on Wednesday Film series, and the Saturday First Run Features offer two highly-anticipated pre-DVD release films. The full list of July film screenings can be found below:

Classics on Wednesday Film Series

(screened every Wednesday at 1:00 and 7:30pm)

July 1- Man of Steel

July 8- Batman Returns

July 15- Rocketeer

July 22- The Incredibles

July 29- Spider-Man 2

Saturday First Run Feature

(screened two Saturdays per month, 2:00 and 7:30pm)

July 11- Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

July 25- Home
