Standfast expands with venture

ADDISON - The Standfast Group announced it will invest $40 million into a new joint venture with a Canadian company that will include moving the corrugated converter to a new, larger facility in Carol Stream. The new venture, BlackHawk Corrugated, will be co-owned and cooperated by Standfast and Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd., of Toronto, Canada, the company said in a release. When complete in late 2015, the Carol Stream corrugated sheet feeder plant will increase StandFast's operation from 90,000 square feet to 380,000 square feet, and will add new corrugator, converting, fulfillment and vendor managed inventory capabilities. The new venture will create more than 100 new jobs in the region, according to the company. Standfast will also move its headquarters from Addison into the new facility.
