Elburn church names Jeremy Fairve as scholarship winner

Community Congregational Church of Elburn is proud to announce that Jeremy Fairve is the winner of our scholarship, which he was awarded June 14. It is open to youth who have been active in the church and have just graduated from high school within the past 2 years.

This scholarship was formerly known as the Bob Miller Scholarship. Bob loved Elburn, loved this church and he loved children. He believed that the education of every child - be it spiritual, intellectual or social - is the responsibility of every adult, whether they are the child's parent or not. Because of these loves and beliefs Bob Miller gave as much time to this community, this church, this school district and our children as his busy career would allow. The congregation is pleased to be able to carry on the mission of the Bob Miller scholarship by re-establishing this scholarship fund for the benefit of our youth.

A Kaneland High School graduate, Jeremy is attending Waubonsee Community College. He has been very active in our church, especially working with the youth group. He has been invaluable in keeping contact with our youth and aiding in the youth group ministry. We pray that he will continue in his journey of faith here and wish him many blessings and success in his future endeavors.

The church is at 100 E. Shannon St. in Elburn. For details, call (630) 365-6544 or visit elburn-ucc.org. Follow the church on Facebook.
