Writer wants working people to feel guilty

An article by Ana Swanson of The Washington Post, was convoluted at best. She states that people making minimum wage would have to work at least 60 hours a week to cover the rent, unless one lives in Hawaii. Then an individual needs to work 163 hours a week to make rent payment on a two-bedroom apartment.

What Swanson doesn't say is that those individuals making that kind of money do not pay rent. In fact, they don't pay for health care, housing, food, phone, and many other amenities,

In fact they do rather well, so much so that some states are passing laws to prohibit individuals receiving the benefits from getting tattoos, going to casinos or ballgames and other form of entertainment.

In my opinion, Swanson's article was meant to embarrass those folks that work, save a few dollars and pay taxes so the recipients of the free benefits will achieve their demands, which are $15 an hour.

I hope that if they get the $15 an hour, it will put them above the poverty level and they lose all the free benefits. Perhaps then Swanson will write another article and present a different point of view to make the working people feel guilty.
