Harper College trustees name former Northwest Community Hospital executive to vacant seat

Harper College trustees have appointed a retired hospital administrator to fill a vacant seat created by the resignation of longtime member Laurie Stone.

Pat Stack, who lives in Barrington, retired last year as vice president of performance improvement at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. She has served in various administrative roles there since 1991.

Stack has close connections to the Palatine-based community college. At NCH, she worked with graduates from the college's nursing program as well as other medical programs. Stack's daughter attended Harper, and Stack is currently enrolled in the conversational Spanish certification program.

Stack has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and a master's degree in business administration from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

She was sworn in this week.

The seat will be up for election in April 2017 and again in April 2019 when Stone's term would have expired.
