TriCity Family Services held its fresh lobster fundraiser Saturday at the Kane County Courthouse in Geneva.
Held the Saturday of Father's Day weekend, the fundraiser has become a tradition for many loyal customers who plan lobster parties around the event. People could buy live lobsters or ones freshly boiled with the steam from an antique engine.
TriCity Family Services has been a provider of counseling and other mental health services to clients of all ages and all income levels since 1967.
"Today we are here to have some fun, bring in some lobster from the East Coast and raise some funds for the organization," said Jason Schneider, president of the TriCity Family Services Board of Directors.
The group sold 570 lobsters for $20 each and hoped to raise between $5,000 and $6,000.
