BATAVIA - Kate Cozzani, owner of The Giving Tree Family of Schools with child care centers in Forest Park, Elmwood Park and Batavia, will receive the 2015 Hedy M. Ratner and S. Carol Dougal Legacy Award from the Women's Business Development Center at the organization's 17th Annual Early Childhood Education Entrepreneurship Expo.

The event will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Road, in Chicago.

A former public school teacher, Cozzani has built three suburban child care centers into successful enterprises. Her centers now care for nearly 250 children, making The Giving Tree Family of Schools one of the largest independent child care center in the state.

Themed "Excel. Grow. Lead." and presented in Spanish and English, the Expo is the only event of its kind in the Chicago area that provides business solutions, resources, products, information and services to prospective and established early childhood education entrepreneurs.

General admission online, including breakfast and lunch, is $40 prior to June 17. Limited on-site registration will be available for $75. For more information and to register, visit www.WBDC.org, or call (312) 853-3477, ext. 290.
