Palatine library used book sale this weekend

More than 2,000 books, DVDs, CDs and other items will be available this weekend at the Friends of Palatine Library's Used Book Sale.

Library spokeswoman Andrea Lublink said proceeds from the sale benefit library programs like the summer reading program, which about 4,000 people sign up for every year. More than 95 percent of what is available for purchase is donated for the sale.

On Friday, admission for nonmembers of the library is $5; on Saturday, admission is free; and on Sunday, all remaining items will be sold at half price.

The sale will run from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday; 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
