It's sneaky to ticket cars on cul-de-sacs

I recently attended a large community garage sale event on June 5 in Schaumburg. There were many sales, people and cars.

I was aware of the "No Parking" signs posted on the main thoroughfares within the community, but didn't realize that also included cul-de-sacs where many of the homes and sales were located. I parked in one of these cul-de-sacs being mindful not to block a driveway, another parked car or fire hydrant.

After leaving I noticed a ticket on my windshield. Really? I couldn't believe it! I found the officer that issued the ticket and spoke with him about it. He pointed out a "No Parking" sign about 150 yards ahead of where I parked. The sign also states no parking on "this side of the street".

What side would that be? Given that a cul-de-sac is circular and only has one side that would disallow all parking. In fact I witnessed this same officer let a guy off and he parked exactly where I had been parked earlier.

Even though I live in Florida I will contest this ticket. This seems to me to be a low, underhanded way to add substantial revenue to the village coffers.
