College of Lake County names new golf coach

Chris Wyniawskyj, a College of Lake County mathematics professor since 2012, has been hired as the part-time golf coach by the Athletics department, effective immediately for the fall 2015 season. He will continue to teach math at the college.

Wyniawskyj earned an A.A. from North Central Michigan College and a B.S. degree from Northern Michigan University, where he played on the golf team for three years. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and taught algebra and calculus there for two years as he earned an M.S. in mathematics.

"We are elated to welcome Chris to our coaching staff," said Nic Scandrett, CLC athletic director. "The CLC men's golf program was a perennial power in the past, so it was very important to us to bring it back to prominence. Since Chris has a strong background in golf and is also a full-time faculty member, he is the perfect fit to get it done. The student-athletes will love playing for him."
