Or Shalom Announces New Rabbi and Special Summer Events

Among the upcoming special events being held at Congregation Or Shalom, will be a Shabbat in the Park, being held on Century Park Island on Friday, June 26. Anyone interested is invited to arrive by 6 p.m. with a BYO picnic dinner, lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray, candles and anything else to make this a family-friendly fun, memorable service. Children with June birthdays will receive a special blessing from the rabbi. These children are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift for a child in need. A service worship service will begin at 7 p.m. and will be followed by an ice cream oneg following the service. This is Rabbi Nina Mizrachi's final service as the congregation's interim rabbi. In the event of rain, services will be moved to the temple. A second summer Shabbat in the Park will take place on Friday, July 10, when Or Shalom officially welcomes its new spiritual leader, Rabbi Ari Margolis, and his family.
