Your chance to see an authentic Native American powwow

The annual celebration of Native American culture and community is back this weekend at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village.

The American Indian Center of Chicago is hosting its 62nd annual powwow Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, at Busse Woods Forest Preserve Grove 6, East Higgins and South Arlington Heights roads. The grounds open at 10 a.m. both days.

The celebration will feature traditional artisans, dance, music and food. The dancers, drummers, singers and craft vendors at the event represent more than 175 tribes from across the United States and Canada.

Admission is $10-$15; free for 5 and younger. Visit aic-chicago.org.
