Mt. Prospect Village Green free concerts begin June 5

Start your weekend off right with concerts on the Village Green in Mount Prospect.

The fifth annual Fridays on the Green are back. This year, bands will feature a variety of music genres from '80s and '90s hits to R&B to country and more. The village hall's outdoor green space along Emerson Street is the perfect spot to sit back and relax with friends and family.

The concerts are on the first and third Fridays from June to August (no concert July 3). Shows are 6-8 p.m. People are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs.

"Downtown Mount Prospect is the ideal place for weekend festivities. Before, after, and even during the concert, I encourage everyone to visit one of our many wonderful downtown restaurants and shops," said Mayor Arlene A. Juracek. "The Concerts on the Green offer a fun experience of having a picnic outdoors while enjoying live music."
