'These Walls Can Talk' exhibit showcases Bartlett history

For the past eight years, The Bartlett Historical Society and Arts in Bartlett have partnered to bring the stories and images of area historic buildings to Bartlett village hall, 228 S. Main St., for a monthlong exhibit in the 2nd floor gallery.

The eighth annual exhibit, with photos and artworks of the people and places representing Bartlett's rich history, will be on display until Monday, June 29, and is free and open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Featured are the six buildings the Bartlett Historical Society honored with a plaque noting the year they were built for owners to affix to the building. The plaquing ceremony was held at the village board meeting on Monday, May 18.

The 2015 Plaque Houses include: 243 S. Western Ave. (1928), owners Chris and Gillian Reed; 108 N. Elroy Ave. (c. 1926), owner Viola Vlasak; 121 S. Oak Ave. (c. 1954), owner Donna Merritt; 430 W. Oneida Ave. (c. 1928), owners Bruce and Kathy Herro; 105 W. North Ave. (1957), owners David and Debbie Dortmund; and 119 S. Hickory Ave. (c. 1894), owner Laurie Berg.
