Join Heroin Awareness' Walk for Wellness

Diane Kriescher spoke to Larkin High School faculty today about heroin awareness.

Her family has been affected by heroin addiction which prompted her to create a Facebook page called Heroin Awareness Streamwood.

The page is an attempt to educate herself as well as others about heroin and drug addictions.

A Walk for Wellness is planned for Saturday, July 11. The walk kicks off at 11 a.m. at St John's the Evangelist Catholic Church, 512 S. Park Blvd. in Streamwood.

Kriescher states, "We think that heroin is in the next town and hasn't reached us yet. Heroin it is here, it's everywhere. Every day 100 Americans will die from a drug overdose. Heroin does not care (if it is your child or loved one) so we have to."
