Prosecutor: 'Sucker punch' led to man's death in Palatine

5-year-old Palatine boy struck by car dies

A 5-year-old Palatine boy struck by a car Monday afternoon died from his injuries yesterday, police said. The boy, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Kobe Lewis, was hit about 4:15 p.m. while walking across Palatine Road east of its intersection with Winston Drive, according to police. The Wall That Heals, as it is known, is a 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that honors more than 3 million Americans who served in the military during the Vietnam War and bears the names of more than 58,000 who died. Where should Illinois set DUI limits for marijuana?

Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon said the proposed 15-nanogram THC threshold for DUI-marijuana in a bill awaiting Gov. Rauner's signature is excessive compared to laws in other states, such as Colorado, where the limit is 2-7 nanograms. But one state senator involved in the proposal said the 15-nanogram limit compares to the current DUI-alcohol threshold. Full story.
