OPRF eliminates Maine West

Oak Park-River Forest, the No. 3 seed in the Niles West sectional, ended Maine West's baseball season Monday with a 4-0 victory over the Warriors in a Class 4A regional final hosted by the Huskies.

Maine West (18-15) finished with 4 hits against winning pitcher Hank Christie, and senior Crosley Duckmann had 3 of them, finishing 3-for-3.

Senior Tommy Hanson suffered the lost for Maine West after pitching 5 innnings, and senior Rob Yost tossed 1 scoreless relief inning.

Oak Park-River Forest advances to Thursday's 4:30 p.m. game in the Niles West sectional semifinals against Loyola Academy. The Ramblers edged Notre Dame 2-1 in their own regional final Monday.
