Editorials fail to hold officials accountable

I feel compelled to finally drop a note to the board because of another milquetoast editorial {this one of May 27} where you ambiguously lament the actions of our legislators in Springfield.

You again employ the same waffling indignation you regularly employ in your comments on the continued failures of the various levels of government that we must endure in this state.

Whether it is another unrealistic, unbalanced budget from the state legislature or the pension spiking fines foisted upon us by arrogant school boards because of their defiance of state guidelines, your reaction is always underwhelming.

Perhaps your lack of conviction stems from the simple fact that you overwhelmingly endorse the incumbents in every election cycle, despite their dismal record of accomplishment in leading their respective units of government.

In the future, I would hope you develop a different set of criteria making your decisions in regards to political endorsements. Otherwise, you will continue to fail us as they have.
