Author James Kennedy Visits Westgate

Author James Kennedy recently had a very successful visit with students at Westgate Elementary School in Arlington Heights. Author of the book "The Order of Odd-Fish," Kennedy was a very engaging and animated speaker. Third, fourth, and fifth grade students listened intently as he told stories about teaching, writing, failing, and trying again.

His style of speaking had everyone in stitches. "The teachers haven't laughed that hard in years! I've had such positive feedback from students and parents alike," said Kristie Cerniglia, Westgate's LMC Director. Kennedy's author visit was organized by Julie Jurgens at Arlington Heights Memorial Library to continue an ongoing collaboration with all the Arlington Heights schools. Parents were able to pre-order signed books before the visit, but a few books were available after the event as well.
