Volunteers Needed for Free Ultrasounds at College of DuPage

The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography program at College of DuPage is seeking volunteers to participate in free evening scanning sessions this summer.

Volunteer appointments are available at 5:45 and 6:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 15 through July 8. Each session lasts approximately one hour, and volunteers are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their appointments.

Volunteers can select the areas to be scanned. Options include the aorta, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, uterus/ovaries (transabdominal only), thyroid and obstetrical.

The free sessions allow DMIS students to practice their scanning skills under the supervision of registered diagnostic medical sonographers. The scans are not diagnostic tests, and reports are not issued.

Spots are expected to fill quickly. For more information or to schedule an appointment, e-mail ultrasoundvolunteer
